The kids and I had to make a quick stop at Wal-Mart after school, and it turned into us being there a little longer than I needed to be. Which isn't good when you only get up to 500 calories a day, because when you get hungry.. your stomach literally thinks your throat has been cut, and you feel as if you could eat anything that dare get close to your mouth. Plus, I got extremely dizzy everytime I bent over while shopping. When we get home, I decide to pull my defrosted ground beef out, since I've been salivating all day at the thought of making a healthier version of my mini meatloaf. After seeing the little plop of meat weighing exactly 100 g on my food scale, I literally stared at it for a minute. This moment led into my first breakdown of this whole diet. I'm starving, to what I'm sure is soon to be death, and all I can cry out is "I'm so hungry, and that doesn't look like enough meat!". First time I think I've ever bawled like a baby over food! Buuuut, it happened, and I got passed it. FYI, 3.5 oz of hamburger meat makes an awesome meatball or mid-sized hamburger patty :)
Day 5 Diet - 500 Calories
Started my day off once again with a hot cup of coffee, and I'm afraid this diet is going to officially get me to become *gasp* a coffee drinker. I know, I'm just as shocked as you are.
Dinner: my breakdown meal. Wanted meatloaf and it just wasn't gonna happen. So, I decided to make the yummiest hamburger patty I've ever made, and I definitely think I succeeded. Smeared 1/4 tsp. of spicy brown mustard ontop, and sandwiched between two Romaine lettuce leaves. Since I could have a little more lettuce, I just rolled it up and ate with a side of spicy brown mustard. Forgot to grab a breadstick or toast, so I just ended up having my fruit portion with it. I made my very own frozen strawberry lemonade, and it was amazing! Lemme know if you'd like the recipe, since I think it'd make such a healthy treat for kids, too :)
